Second time at Huey's and both times great combination plate of scallops and lg. shrimp with baked potato and slaw.  Best around.

This is the second time I've dined at this establishment. I wanted to give it a second chance to redeem itself from the first visit. This visit was just a subpar as the first. Everything they have from the seafood to the creamed potatoes is from the freezer or a box. We do not live near the coast so I understand some of the seafood would be frozen but they can't even make their mashed potatoes homemade. There is nothing original about this place. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because our waitress was very friendly. I do not recommend wasting your money here.

    Always hot and fresh
We mostly go here for take out.
We get the family plate and we've never had a problem. Been out family favorite for over 30 years
Can't beat the quality of food and the great hospitality

    Our service was great!
Food - ah, well, ok, I guess.  Atmosphere - dreary.
On our visit the restaurant was almost empty but the bar seemed busy.  We came for dinner so used the restaurant side.
Our waitress was really nice, prompt and seemed sympathetic to our lackluster response to the edible food.
It stuck us that we had deep fried pre-packed frozen items along with uninteresting sides.
It is unlikely that we will return to this 'faded glory' place that seems to be on its way to oblivion as newer and better choices continue to show up in the Mebane area.
We give it 3 stars only because of our server.  We can fix this type of food at home from the freezer.
NOTE** We did not have any oysters** it may be a good place for oysters and beers.  That might explain the popularity of the bar side.

We ate in the bar side and I am loving that I can get steamed oysters without traveling at all.  Served with plenty of saltines, cocktail sauce and extra horseradish.  They quickly add Texas Pete and lemons if you let them know they're wanted.  Each half peck comes out on a large platter with the tops already lifted.  Plastic buckets on the table for the shells.

We added the steamed sampler and got  a snow crab cluster, some good sized shrimp and more oysters.  All that with basket of great hush puppies had us pleasantly full.  (And know that I can put a hurt on a peck of oysters.  My husband was probably glad he had his own platter.)

The bar is limited but adequate.  There is no drinks menu.  Their best bourbon is Maker's Mark and all the beer is mainstream.  A glass of wine is a hefty 6 ounce pour.

There are specials most nights, too.
